Cells

During the 2020 lock-downs, I began to explore systems of cells. Cells had goals like connecting, dividing, moving, et cetera.

I was interested in the sense of busy purposefulness that the particles took on, once given a few rules.

In later iterations, the cells connected and moved more as unified tissue.

"Both resin and phosphora recreate different shades of green by different artificial beings from an imaginary digital world. In phosphora we almost see how a weird cellular organism grows, reproduces, and gains light and life, while resin remembers more of a plant growing at a fast but harmonious pace. 茗荷儿 L'anatife 丫杈是生命组织最基本的演变之形,茗荷儿生⻓于树上,随断掉的树枝一起落入海浪,在漂泊的桅杆 与浆中孕育出新生命。我们在湘陵南岸上发现了几处这样的生命遗迹,将其复苏。

The Y branch is the most basic evolutionary form of life organization. L'anatife grows on a tree and falls into the waves with the broken branches, gestating new life in the drifting mast and pulp. We found several such relics of life on the south bank of Xiangling and restored them.
